Today, I got the Moderna vaccine. As a member of group 1B (teacher) and being chunky (BMI over 30) I qualified.
I used the Harris County portal https://vacstrac.hctx.net/landing... thanks to Linsey Bové sharing it, and I just checked it daily until there was availability.
The shot itself didn’t hurt. My arm is sore now. I also had some stomach upset, but that could have been from something I ate the day before.
I hope as many people as possible can get a vaccination. As someone who teaches around 60 kids a day who each go home to families, and having my own two children, one of whom goes to a different school, the chain seemed worth it as soon as I could make it happen.
This was such a wonderful day in so many ways. Looking forward to what’s to come!
