Pre-Cotillion I, Class 1

Last night both kids participated in the first class of the Pre-Cotillion season. Taking Aidan was an iffy thing. The class is for 1st and 2nd grade students. I didn't want to mess with a babysitter, and Tyler getting home by 4:00 was out of the question. Also, Aidan has been begging to go to cotillion.

Well, it turned out great! They both absolutely loved it. Sarah teaches that group, so I didn't get to see them in action except during the dining etiquette portion. She said they both participated so much. At one point they were going around saying nice things about a family member, and Aidan was the first one to raise his hand and say, "My sister Allison is strong." Sarah also told me how impressed she is with Allison's manners. Proud mommy here!

Next week I will try to get some more pictures. It's so hard though because I'm also teaching the 3rd and 4th graders. I love that they both love Pre-Cotillion!

Snow Day

Snow Day was last Saturday, and we had fun making snowballs and sledding.

This year Aidan was older and on a snowball throwing mission. He chased Allison repeatedly.

Then, he recruited her to make a gigantic one to throw at me. Look at how proud he is of his scheming.

They also did the sled a few times. Fun way to start our day!

What's Been Happening Thus Far in 2014

Happy New Year! (12 Days Late)

We have already been busy in the new year. For New Year's Eve we went to some friends' house from the club. It was so much fun that the couples have all decided to do a dinner club together. Here are Tyler and Bill ringing in the new year together. Aren't they precious?

A new thing for this new year is that Aidan has requested to take Tai Kwon Do. He started this past week. Watching his class ranks up there with one of the cutest things ever. Allison and I just sit and giggle at how adorable he is. "Aidan" is written in Korean on his top.

On the last day before Allison headed back to school we went to Memorial City Mall to ice skate, ride the train, and visit the American Girl Doll store. It was a perfect day, and we had so much fun!

This was just Lilly a few days ago. I looked into the living room and saw the queen perched upon her throne. It made me laugh, so I took a quick picture.

Finally, our recycling day is Wednesday. In case you don't remember, both Christmas and New Year's Day fell on Wednesdays. Hence, most of the houses on our block looked like this on January 8th. Where's Waldo, I mean Aidan?

Christmas 2013

Blogger of year here. I am pretty behind. Sorry!

We did have a wonderful Christmas! Christmas Eve and Christmas morning it was just the four of us. The kids woke up before the sun, so we loaded up on coffee and began the fun.

Omie and Papa Fred came in around 2 pm. Allison had made a small drawstring bag in her sewing class, and she gave it to Omie as her Christmas present. Meme, my grandmother and Omie's mother, loved to sew and was exceptional. This made for a very special and heartwarming gift. So sweet!

In the midst of the many new toys these two decided a box and the plastic air-filled filler was more worth their time.

The next day we headed to the park. Aidan had not been feeling well, so when he wanted to go in his pjs, I didn't really care. Omie and Papa Fred bought Allison this really cool scooter. It is hard to figure out, but she managed to quickly. I'm still working on it. It is a major inner-thigh workout.

On the 28th we headed to Wimberley for the Ethridge/Brevell Christmas party. This was SO much fun! There were a ton of relatives present, and we had a blast.
