Here they are! The scanner did not do a very good job unfortunately. We will take our annual ones somewhere outside next month.

Allison Turns 9!

We have a 9-year-old in the house! She is a rather spectacular little lady and continues to become more so by the day.

Allison is kind, caring, determined, curious, and a hard worker. She still loves gymnastics and is asking for more hours at the gym. We are going from 1.5 a week to 5.5! She said, "The more I go the better I will get at gymnastics. Of course I want to go more!" She is also having so much fun playing soccer, and she and Daddy have spent hours perfecting her skills. She's quite a good little goalie, which is her favorite position.

Some Favorites

Favorite Color - Red (She says red, but chooses pink each and every time.)
Favorite Food - Fettuccini Alfredo
Favorite Singer - Taylor Swift
Favorite Sport - Gymnastics
Favorite Place to Spend an Evening - Home (She loves to be home.)
Favorite Subject in School - All of them (Her answer)

Grace School seems to be the perfect fit for Allison. We have our smiling, laughing, and all-around happy daughter back. She seems to be worrying less about social things at school, she is crazy about her teacher, and she can tell you specific reasons why she is happier there. It is worth every single penny to see the joy in her that has been missing for a while now as far as school is concerned. Allison is such a thinker, and she really does internalize way more than any young child should. The size of the classes, the focus on values and citizenship, and the variety of experiences Grace offers leads to happy students that have a love of learning. It's Allison-ville.

On her birthday I headed up to Grace. I was the mystery reader for the week. Allison said she figured it out for sure on Thursday. Clue #4 was "I love to yell 'Hook 'em Horns!'" I read a couple of books to her class and then went to lunch to eat with her and her silly friends. She was so glad I came, and the girls were really fun. Allison had free dress for her birthday, and there was a sign in the car rider line that she brought home for our yard. Free dress is a BIG deal. She sported pink for breast cancer awareness.

Friday Omie and Papa Fred came up to help celebrate. They brought Allison a sewing machine! Poor Omie and Papa Fred were still very jet-lagged from their China trip, so Omie will have to come back up soon to help figure out how to use the thing. She was so excited. That night she didn't want to go out to eat for her birthday. She wanted us to cook. She requested escargot, "fish like Daddy caught", and bananas foster in place of cake. My kids and their eating...

Saturday was the big skating rink party. The kids all had a great time. Josie, Allison's friend from school last year came, and those two were inseparable the entire time. Josie even came home with us for a couple of hours after the party. They are the cutest friends. Both so silly.

It was a fabulous ninth birthday weekend! Happy Birthday my sweet Allison! I love you so, so much!!!
