Spring Break 2017

Spring Break time, and this year we stayed home. We are putting our house on the market in a month, so there is a ton to prepare. We still managed to have a good time right here in Houston!

Aidan came with me to help with the musical and was treated to a backstage tour.

We have been checking out the Heights quite a bit as a possible new neighborhood, and Gelazzi has become a favorite treat spot. This mural is on the side of the building.

We rode bikes, took bluebonnet pics, and played at the park.

Spring Break is also Rodeo time in Houston. The Mulanax family had us up to their suite, and the kids had a great first Rodeo Houston experience.

Finally, Aidan is beyond excited about the upcoming roller skating unit in PE at school, so we went to Discovery Green to practice. I think more practice is definitely in order!

Yet another sign that middle school is just around the corner. The fifth graders are allowed to join the middle school track team, and Allison jumped at the chance to compete for her school. 

With gymnastics she is only able to attend two meets this season. It will mean some tough decisions in the months to come, but for now she is fortunate that the coaches are fine with her coming to practice and only a couple of meets. 

She started the season running longer distances and ended competing in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. 400 seemed to be a good distance for her. She also really enjoyed the long jump!

In May was the sports banquet, and Allison was up there to receive her certificate along with the rest of the team. Go Gators!

Gymnastics and Concan

This weekend we headed to San Antonio to watch Allison in her meet and then to Concan for the night. There are few things as peaceful as the Frio River at the beginning of the year.
