Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Tonight Allison had her first sleepover with more than one friend. Jaya is in town from Kansas for her spring break, and Tye came two doors down to join in on the fun. These girls had the best time, and they were super sweet to Aidan 95% of the time. He loved being in the middle of their craziness.

The Allergy Queen

Poor Allison has been battling horrible allergies for two weeks now. The oak pollen is out of control. My Highlander is yellow at the moment. We are supposed to get massive rain over the next 24 hours, and according to pollen.com she'll have some relief. However, it hasn't happened yet. It is 2 AM, and I just put her back in bed after she came to me itching, coughing, wheezing, and miserable.

It started with a very swollen eye. We immediately went to the doctor, and she started on a nasal spray, allergy eye drops, and was told to continue her morning and evening allergy medications.

Ten days later we were back in the doctor's office because her eyes were both itchy and red, and her skin was extremely itchy. New cream, eye drops, prescription night allergy medicine, prescription under-eye cream for the dry skin that cannot go into her eyes (come on, if she rubs at all it's in her eyes), and continue morning allergy medicine.

Four days following that visit she has been sent home from school for the red eyes, and at gymnastics last night they were extremely worried she had pink eye. She doesn't. And, even if she did those new eye drops are the same ones they give for pink eye.

I feel so badly for Allison, and I'm so frustrated that they cannot give her a shot or something to relieve these allergy symptoms. What in the world is a mom to do? After being in the house for a few hours yesterday afternoon her eyes did start to clear up some. Here is a picture we took for Papa Fred's birthday project:

You can see how they are somewhat irritated and swollen. They don't look too horrible though, and she begged to go to gymnastics. As soon as we went outside in the wind to head to out they flared up again. These eyes have been making her crazy on and off for now 15 days. Please let this rain be the solution!

Kind Act #11...Finally

Well, we have definitely taken our time on these kind acts. They have not been forgotten. Today we made St. Patrick's Day cupcakes for the neighbors. Don't worry. Aidan had clean hands before sticking his fingers in there, and he did not double dip!

An Allison First

Allison lost her first tooth today! This sucker has been hanging around teasing us for over a month. Today right after she arrived in her classroom it fell out. She has it tucked away in her tooth fairy pillow ready to go for tonight.

Just before heading out the door for WAM she secured the tooth.

New Adventure

Starting next school year I will be teaching pre-school at Aidan's MDO. I'm so excited! I will find out tomorrow which age group. It will only be for two days a week, and only from 8:30-3 on those days. They have three teachers per class of 12 students, so the ratios are great. It's something new and different, so I'm really looking forward to this. Tyler, on the other hand, thinks I have lost my mind.

Here's a picture of Aidan's class from the website. He's in the orange shirt two students to Ms. Leslie's left.
