Sickies Galore

The night of my last post the illnesses began. Allison came down with a major stomach virus, and it was not pretty. She missed swimming last Thursday, which she pouted about up until today's lesson, and was pretty lathargic and tired the last part of last week. It was a quick bug, and by the weekend she seemed to be feeling ok, even though she wouldn't really eat. Finally around Tuesday she started eating again.

Aidan, on the other hand, has absolutely no problem eating. The kid is enormous. He's a week and a half shy of being 3 months old, and he's busting out of his 3-6 month pjs. He is super cute though. Allison definitely gets the biggest smiles from him. He just loves her, and she's so sweet to him. It really is nice. Check out this tub-a-lub...
Picture from my blackberry. Sorry for the quality.

I'm now coming down with some sort of head cold, and Allison has a big-time runny nose. Aidan also seems to be a little stopped up. Tyler is in great shape. Tyler and I are supposed to go to the Houston Rodeo BBQ cookoff on Saturday night. I've been looking forward to this night out for a couple of months, so I really hope the kids and I can shake this cold quickly.

Something fun that happened this week was "Donuts with Dad" at Allison's school. Tyler went with her in the morning on Monday for the special event. He said she was so happy to have him there. She showed him her classroom, and just kept hugging on him the entire time. He said he definitely received more hugs than any of the other dads. When I picked her up she told me all about Daddy going with her to school. The framed picture below was his gift. I scanned it in to share with you.

Lovin' on my Brother

Allison wanted me to take pictures of her with Aidan this afternoon. The hugging cracks me up, and notice she's ready for her swim lesson. It's tomorrow morning at 10 am.

Allison Dynamite

Sunday night Napoleon Dynamite was on TV, so Tyler and I watched the last part of it. When the vote for Pedro dance came on, Allison stood in front of the TV and tried to dance along. We were covering our mouths trying to not laugh out loud and disturb the performance. Tyler hit record on the DVR so that she could repeat it for your viewing pleasure. The end gets pretty funny.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Allison once again made cookies for Daddy for Valentine's...in her Halloween costume. The icing and sprinkles looked much better than last year. She was so proud when he got home from work. Making cookies is one of her favorite things to do. Maybe she'll be great in the kitchen like Tyler.

Here are some Valentine smiles from Aidan for you...

Do They Look Alike?

My friend Ashley posted pictures on her blog of her two babies at the same age, and I thought since people keep mentioning that Aidan looks like Allison it was a good idea. What do you think? I think they're pretty similar!

Valentine's Fun!

Today Allison had a Valentine's party at school. It was so cute. They exchanged valentine cards and decorated sugar cookies. She loved showing me her classroom.
Showing me the chalkboard she likes to write on after erasing the
nice "Happy Valentine's Day" art her teacher had written.

2 Month Appointment

On Monday Aidan had his 2-month doctor's appointment. He is very healthy and HUGE! He weighed 12 lbs 2 3/4 oz, which is in the 70th percentile. He is 22 inches long, which is only in the 15th percentile. So, he's short and chubby right now. He had six vaccinations, and his ears and nose looked really good. That's a relief with all the colds and viruses that are going around. Allison was constantly congested as a baby and is still on allergy medicine. Maybe he won't have those problems. We'll see.

We've moved on up to the 3-6 month clothes!

Aidan's Christening

This morning we had Aidan baptized. Christina Borgstedte, Aidan's godmother, and my parents joined us for church. It was a very nice service, and afterwards we met Denis, Renee, Stacie, and Greg for brunch at La Madeleine. Aidan slept through most of the action. I had to rush home after brunch and make it to cotillion in Katy. It has been a long but good day. Tyler said his seven hours alone with the kids went really smoothly. I'm so glad! The Katy cotillion days are long ones.

Papa Jerry and Nai Nai's Visit

Papa Jerry and Nai Nai (Judy), Tyler's father and step-mother, came to visit a couple of weeks ago, and we had such a great time. Allison spent the majority of the weekend in her Halloween costume. They also went to Pump It Up on Monday morning before Nai Nai had to fly back home. You can be the judge on who loves Pump It Up the most...Allison, Daddy, or Nai Nai?

Ballet Recital Dance

Today we video taped the dance for Allison's ballet recital in May. You can see it below. We have a little work to do, but they sure are cute!

A Few Cute Pics

These are just a few cute pictures from this weekend. Allison was watching Aladin in our bed, and she wanted Aidan next to her. So sweet! (She has a weird obsession with the pink towel.)

We really are starting to get into some sort of groove around here. Aidan is on a schedule, for now. He has started to sleep through one feeding, meaning with Tyler doing the 10 PM feeding I get around five hours of sleep in a row most nights. He's getting so big! On Monday he goes to the pediatrician, and we'll see what the official weight is. I weighed him yesterday though, and he was 11 3/4 lbs with clothes on.

Allison's behavior has vastly improved. She's still trying to be sneaky about some things, but for the most part she's listening again. This afternoon while I was nursing on the couch she tried to bend down and walk behind the couch to our room, after I had told her to stay out of our room. She honestly thought I couldn't see her! I have to keep from laughing and stick to the discipline. It's really hard sometimes. I am just so thankful that through the past two months of her figuring this all out, she has always been so loving towards Aidan. When she's mad, she's mad at us. She is so crazy about and in love with her little brother. It makes us so happy. If she had her way, he would sleep with her each night. She doesn't quite understand why that isn't the best idea.
