It's a New Year!

Happy New Year! We are back at school as of Tuesday, and the kids were so happy to be back with their class mates. We had a wonderful break with friends and family.

For New Year's Eve and a couple of days afterwards we went down to Portland and Corpus to spend time with family. I didn't take any pictures because I had the worst cold or flu or something. Allison and Aidan had their days throughout the break of wheezing, coughing, and fevers as well. Even Tyler had a couple of days early on when he felt bad. It's actually nice that we are all feeling a little better and back in a routine.

On their last night of no official bedtime Allison's friend Lauren came for a sleepover. The girls were so, so sweet to Aidan, and they entertained us with their rendition of "Frozen".

Fortunately I have these two monkeys to help me with putting up and taking down Christmas decorations. They actually love it. This was Wednesday. We waited until after the 6th.

Then, I wanted to share this with you. This is Aidan reading to me Wednesday night. The amount of growth in Kindergarteners as the year progresses is so amazing.

I have been subbing at the kids' school lately and really enjoying it. I am considering returning to teaching. I know I want to do something, but I am having a hard time figuring it out. Teaching is my passion, and I am so glad I have had cotillion these past ten years to keep me in the field. Even if it is very different from the classroom. Yesterday I was with 8th graders in US History. They were so fun. I will keep you posted. I'm sort of lost right now, but I will figure it out soon. :)
